Fabricated Spanning Truss

SpeedDeck’s Fabricated Spanning Truss system provides a lightweight pitched roof construction which is quick to install, cost effective and can offer a clear span up to 26 metres. The spanning truss is manufactured off-site and delivered to be installed by our experienced roofing contractors.

This type of system has been primarily used in volumetric or modular constructions of Social housing, Residential, Education, MOD and Prison projects. The system can be tailored to suit the various module sizes in the market place, ensuring that frame centres are positioned above the perimeter of each module, to be anchored back into the cold rolled channel edge beam generally provided in the module frame.

The system has been engineered to incorporate a maximum amount of adjustment, accommodating any amount of level variance, and has been designed to suit any of our metal roofing systems manufactured in both steel & aluminium. Single skin roof construction are generally specified in the modular / volumetric market sector as the insulation zone is within the module itself, therefore noise dampening and anti-condensation membranes should be considered to the reverse of the roofing system.

The system is manufactured from pre-galvanised high tensile cold rolled steel with all materials conforming to BSEN 10147:1992, with structural calculations being provided to prove each component and the finished product.

The system is erected to meet the Building Regulations 1991 (England and Wales) Standard. In the design of the system all current codes of practice are considered and proved by calculation:

• BS6399: Part 2:1997 Code of practice for wind loads

• BS6399: Part 3:1988 Code of practice for imposed roof loading

• BS5950: Part 5:1998 Code of practice for design of cold-formed sections
